Saturday past saw the teams in action in 2 locations, with the ladies taking an overnighter to the Brown Invitational. The guys stayed local, competing at Van Cortlandt Park.
Once again, the freshmen guys showed the CHSAA who's boss, winning the Freshman relays. Tom Louro led off and then handed off to Ryan Cannon, then Joey Russ, Kyle Haley and Jed McMullin. They bested the next team by 30 seconds.
The JV boy's were also winners, putting their top 7 in the top 10. The team was led by Sean Fitzgerald, winning the race, with Tom Thieke 2nd, Matt Taddeo 4th, Justin Blair 6th, Will Isenberg 7th, Nick Kaufmann 9th and Chris Regan 10th.
The Varsity team faced much stiffer competition and had to settle for 3rd to 2 out-of-state schools. Tom Diliberto (3rd) led the team with Frank Segreto (8th), Tom Flynn (13th), Brian Smith (21st), Jake Hensler (22nd) and Matt Fortino (24th).

The Ladies, in their travels, fared quite well. The freshpersons led off the day, claiming 2nd as a team. Stephanie Leo once again led the team in, taking 3rd and along the way, setting the new St. Anthony's frosh girl's course record, 16:00.9 previously held by Olicia Williams. Next in was Danielle Buglino (14th), Katiya Meringolo (24th), Delany Worth (34th), Gina D'Angelo (35th), Emily Byrne (39th) and Jamie Citera (42nd).
The JV ladies were up next and also ran very well, taking 4th against 3 LI powerhouse teams. The ladies were led by Liz Gomez (2nd), Nicole Krawczyk (9th), Katie Skrypek (27th) Kathleen Westervelt (35th) Shannon McGahan (48th), Emma Bailey (61st) and Hanna Reinertsen (77th).
The Varsity girls had a great day, claiming 2nd place in the Championship race. There was only 8 points seperating the top 3 teams (all from LI !). Gabry Vezza led the ladies in, taking 6th, with Lauren Lavoro next in 14th, Victoria Ciotti (18th), Lauren Fontana (25th), Kerri-Anne Flynn (36th), Mariella Bilello (50th) and Sloan Russ (52nd). All in all a very successful weekend for both teams!!
