Bob Pratt Invitational Recap

The boys in black & gold had a great day on Thursday past.  They swept all the titles for this meet and did so in very convincing fashion.  The smallest margin of victory was 52 points and that was in the varsity race.  After the merge of the 2 varsity races, the spread was much larger (86).  The freshmen led the way on what was to prove to be an enjoyable day for the Friars.  They placed the 5 scorers in the top 18 with the full 7 members of the scorers in the top 21. They were led by David Lipsky (4th), Joseph Orelli (9th), Jake Hensler (11th), David Keans (15th), Matthew Taddeo (18th), William Isenberg (19th) and Sean Fitzgerald (21st).

The JV were next up and truly dominated the race, placing all 7 scorers in the top 9.  The team was led by Brian Smith, who won the race, followed by Jared Sassone-McHugh (3rd), Tyler DeRubio (4th), Justin Therry (5th), Matt Nock (6th), Nick Johnson (8th) and Nick Mazzucca in 9th.

The Varsity squad had the last race of the day (for the guys).   Both Pat Murphy and Kenny Walshak broke the 17 minute mark in the 5k, finishing 2nd & 3rd respectively.  Thomas Flynn was the next Friar over the line (6th) with Nick Brennan next (9th), Brandon Keany (12th), Robert Tassey (24th) and Matt Fortino rounding out the team in 27th.  An impressive performance for this early in the season.
