This weekend
saw the guys & gals at the Brown Invitational.
The weather & course conditions of Friday were not very promising, with heavy rains and a very muddy course. Luck shone down on the meet and the weather, albeit a bit windy, was nearly perfect for racing. The course seemed to dry out suprisingly well considering the night before, with only a few spots with heavy mud.
The Frosh Ladies led off the day in fine fashion, winning the frosh race easily. Molly Dearie led the team in, taking 2nd. Teresa Kennedy was directly behind in 3rd, with Shea Bohan 7th, Taylor Mitchell 9th, Jessica Vairo 34th, Grace Tierney 36th, Veronica Muratore 54th, Madison Russ 55th, Shannon Gaffney 65th and Jennifer Deery 72nd. The ladies bested 2nd place by 74 points!
The Frosh guys took the course next, with a huge field (313 runners) and ran to a 3rd place team finish. The Tucker brothers led the team in, with Pat taking 3rd and Joe finishing 5th. Joe Keane 36th, Greg Diem 51st, Matt Clarke 64th, Tom Brennan 69th, Colin Mortimer 112th and Ryan Connelly 123rd.
Next out was the
Ladies JV squad in another large field (245), with Delany Worth (49th) leading the team to a 9th place finish. Veronica Leddy was next in (55th), Hanna Reinertsen 63rd, Nicole Krawczyk 68th, Kat Duarte 91st, Julia O'Rourke 95th, Emilie Camera 124th and Lauren Kerl 147th.
The JV guys took the course next, literally, sweeping the top 5 spots for a perfect score of 15. Frank Segreto led the team to victory, with Will Henfling 2nd, Jed McMullin 3rd, Louis Santelli 4th, Chris Regan 5th, Tom Louro 8th, Dan Meehan 12th, Will Isenberg 13th, Brian Krieder 18th, Kieran O'Shea 21st, Mike Perniciaro 22nd, Brian Gallagher 25th, Kevin Solar 28th, Pat Hurd 31st, Nolan Hayes 37th, Joe Russ 38th and Sean Fitzgerald 58th.
Next up was the Ladies Varsity squad. They ran to a 3rd place team finish, led by Kerri-Anne Flynn (4th), with Steph Leo 13th, Gina D'Angelo 21st, Vicky Ciotti 24th, Katya Meringolo 54th, Katie Skrypek (who ran half the race w/o one shoe) 68th and Mariella Bilello 77th.
The Varsity guys took the course as the last race of the day, in the Championship race. This was a very fast field and saw our guys take 2nd teamwise, a mere 2 points from a first place finish. Jake Hensler led them in, claiming 26th, Tom Diliberto was next 29th, Kevin Kreider 31st, Pat Ginty 32nd, Matt Taddeo 39th, Brian Smith 62nd and Tyler Wolfe 120th. They came in with a 14 second spread between 1st & 5th, a very impressive performance.
