Frosh take Cities!!!

Sophs get 3rd.

For the first time in the history of the Frosh/Soph CHSAA Intersectionals, the St. Anthony's team has claimed ultimate victory on the Freshman side.  The did so in convincing fashion, out-scoring 2nd place by a margin of 16 points.  The boys claimed 5 first place finishes, 1 by the 4X400 relay team, one by Chris Gerver taking the top spot in the long jump.  Jed McMullin won the 1600m run and also took 2nd in the 3200.  Kieran O'Shea winning the 3200m run and Tom Louro taking the gold in the 1000m run, just missing the meet record.  Tommy also claimed 2nd in the 600m dash where both he and the winner broke the meet record.    Besides Kieran & Jed, Brian Krieder claimed 3rd in the 3200 and Ryan Cannon took 5th.  There were only 3 events that the boys did not score in and 2 of those were events we weren't even entered in.
An excellent day boys!!  Congratulations and now it's time to start thinking about the outdoor season...

The Sophs had a tougher day, but still clawed back from 5th place in the final events to take home the plaque for 3rd.

In the 3200m run Jake Hensler claimed 2nd in a down to the wire run to the finish, getting gapped only in the last 50m.

In the 1600m run, Matt Taddeo & Jake Hensler claimed 2nd & 3rd respectively.  Matt made a valiant charge to the lead with 300 to go, but couldn't hold of Galford of Farrell over the last 100m and had to settle for second.   Skandel Delince earned a pair of bronze medals, taking 3rd in the Long Jump and the High Jump.  Chris Pensa also claimed 3rd, this time in the Shot Put, with only 9 inches seperating the top 3 throwers.
