Wednesday saw the Lady Friars competing in the League Championships.
The ladies, as a team, scored a 3rd place finish, behind 2 powerhouse
programs. The ladies had 3 first place finishes, 2 by Olivia Abbate in the
100m Hurdles (16.7) and the 400m Hurdles (68.2) in a hotly contested battle.
The other winner was Karen Henning, continuing the family tradition of wins in
the throwing events, taking the discus throw with a toss of 85', nearly a foot better
than her nearest competitor.
Victoria Profit scored 2 second place finishes for the team in the High Jump (5'0")
only missing first due to number of misses at height and in the Triple Jump (32' 10 1/4")
Taking 3rd was MaryAnne Mangione (Discus - 76' 10") and Katie Gallagher
(High Jump - 4' 8").
Other scorers include Kathryn Adams (High Jump, 5th - 4' 6"), Lauren Kilkenny
(100m dash, 4th - 13.7 & 200m dash, 5th - 28.7 ), Emma Bailey (800m run, 5th - 2:32.0),
Victoria Massey (100m Hurdles, 5th - 20.7) and Erin Rodin (100m dash, 5th - 14.2)
