Before I get started, Coach Panker has compiled results that are exclusively
for our team, with comparisons to prior performances as well as a seperate list
that shows only the people that broke their PR's.
This is the link for the team performance.
This is the PR list.
On the Freshman side, Warner Cooley was the star of the meet, winning
3 events. He destroyed the field in the 200 and 100 meter dashes (11.4 and 23.5)
and the triple jump with a leap of 39' 6 3/4". Thomas Flynn kicked in some points with
2 second place finishes in the 1600m & 3200m run (4:49.6 and 10:46.7).
Tim Fiola was another individual double scorer, placing 4th in the 800m run (2:08.7)
and 5th in the long jump (16' 3 1/2").
Nick Massucca was another scorer for the team, taking 3rd in the 1600m run (5:00.6).

2nd in their races. Our 4X400 team (3:51.1) placed 5th.
The Freshmen as a whole, placed 3rd, just 1 point behind the second place finishers.
On to the Sophs....
The Sophomores enjoyed a better meet than the freshmen did, taking
the team championship, led by Mike Mastranduno & Pat Murphy. These 2 athletes
combined to score 30 points individually. Mike led the way, winning the 100m dash,
200m dash & the long jump. Mike only needed 2 jumps to win the long jump
(he fouled on his first attempt), leaping 20' 6", outdistancing the 2nd place opponent
by almost a full foot. In the dashes, he ran 10.8 for the 100 & 23.8 for the 200.
Pat Murphy easily won the 1600m run (4:36.5) and the 3200m run (10:13.9).
Pat also anchored the 4X400 team to a 2nd place finish, outleaning his competitor at the line.
Bentley Whitfield was also a double winner, taking top honors in the Shot (40' 7")
and in the Discus (110' 7").
Also scoring in the Shot were
John Slanover (3rd - 38' 4 1/2") and Pat Basil (5th - 37' 3").
Pat also scored in the Discus (5th - 88' 8").
Over at the Pole Vault, we nearly swept the event, taking the top 3 spots
(Luke Graci, Keith Rackett & Dylan Black respectively)
and then tying for the 5th spot (Brian Lundahl).
Kyle Black won the High Jump, clearing 5'8".
Other scorers were Brandon Keany in the 800m run (3rd - 2:03.9),
Paul McKensie in the 100m dash (3rd - 11.5), Nick Brennan in the
1600m run (5th - 4:49.0)
and rounding out the individual scorers,
Ken Walshak in the 3200m run (
3rd - 10:22.8).
The relay teams also performed well, with the 4X800 team taking 2nd (8:53.8)
and the 4X100 team also placing 2nd (47.5) just 0.2 off the winners.
Now we have to get ready for the big show at Icahn this weekend
