Friday marked the start of the 2010 Cross Country Season.
The guys opened their season with a select team heading to Randolph NJ to compete in the Randolph Invitational. There they performed very well, with the Freshmen leading off the day. They had a great start and portend alot of success for the team. They took first place as a team, led by Joe Russ (3rd), Ryan Cannon (4th), Tom Louro (5th), Jed McMullin (6th) and Kieran O'Shea (12th).
The JV and Varsity teams both claimed 2nd in team scoring, with the JV squad led by Jake Hensler (2nd), Kevin Kreider (4th), Tom Thieke (7th), Sean Fitzgerald (9th) & Matt Taddeo (10th).
The Varsity squad was led by Tom Diliberto who ran a blistering 16:17 to claim 3rd, followed by Tom Flynn (6th), Brian Smith (12th), Frank Segreto (17th) and Nick Johnson (26th).
The Ladies competed in split squad action, with a select team heading to Pennsylvania for the PTXC meet and the other part of the team heading to Bear Mt. for the Suffern Invitational.
The team at PTXC ran well, with Gabriella Vezza leading the Varsity & taking team top honors, placing 6th with a time of 18:41. Next in was Victoria Ciotti (41st), Sloan Russ (58th), Mariella Billello (74th) and Lauren Fontana (95th).
On the JV side the team placed 4th with Kerri-Anne Flynn leading the team taking 4th, with Kayden Becker (20th), Nichole Krawczyk (22nd), Danielle Cornell (27th) and Shannon McGahan (35th).
The Ladies at Bear Mt also had a good day, with the Freshpersons claiming top team honors. They were led by Stephanie Leo (3rd), Katiya Meringolo (10th), Danielle Buglino (16th), Delaney Worth (20th) & Gina D'Angelo (21st).
The JV squad was led by Meg Skrypeck, Stephanie Edwards, Kristen Nappy, Sarah Gregori and Emilie Carmera.
The Varsity team was led by Lauren Kerl, Katie Skrypeck,
Kristi Pentecost, Marissa Como & Taylor Glausen.
