At the CHSAA Relay Carnival in the Armory, two of our teams set new meet records. The Soph boy's shattered the previous record which stood since 1975 by 18 seconds in the 4X800m relay. The team of Louis Santelli, Will Henfling, Jed McMullin and Tom Louro ran basically uncontested (besting 2nd by nearly 30 seconds). The Varsity ladies took down the record in the 4X200m relay besting that time by about 1 second. That team was Megan Fiedler, Melissa June, Katherine Mazzucca and Chynna-mo Chung. Well done guys & gals!!
In the Shot Put, the team of Chris Pensa (who was the individual winner, throwing 50'1 3/4") and Bryan Rhodes claimed 1st. In the Frosh boy's DMR, we placed 3rd. Colin Mortimer placed 3rd in the 1600m run, the soph boy's 4X200m relay placed 3rd as did the soph boy's 4x400m relay. The Novice boys DMR took 5th. In the Shuttle Hurdle relay, the guys took 3rd, the Varsity 4X400m relay team placed 4th, the Varsity 4X800 placed 5th. Chris Regan won the 3200m run with Sean Fitzgerald claiming 3rd. In the Pole Vault, Mike Brunoforte took 2nd clearing 15'. Brian Doyle vaulted to a new PR, clearing 13', taking 4th. Luke Schapfel tied for 2nd in the Novice Pole Vault. Eric Macaluso and Stanton Ridley tied for 4th in the Long Jump.
For the Ladies, 2 teams placed in the DRM, claiming 3rd & 4th. In the Frosh ladies, Bernadette Bradley claimed 5th in the 55m hurdles. The Varsity 4X400m relay team claimed 4th. The Frosh 4X800m relay team of Shea Bohan, Taylor Mitchell, Teresa Kennedy & Molly Dearie took 1st. The "B" team claimed 5th. Along with the winning 4X200m team, the "B" team claimed 4th. In the Long Jump, Vicky Pileggi claimed 2nd while shuttling between the Long Jump & High Jump where she took 4th behind teammate Liz Fallon (3rd), both clearing 5'.
The teams are next in action this weekend at home in a co-ed developmental meet. See the team calendar for the order of events.
