The guys were also in action at Commack HS yesterday.  It was a day of many new Personal Records being set!   Matt Fortino led the day with a victory in the 2k Steeplechase.  Matt set a new PR, besting his previous time by 14 seconds!   Anthony Mussacchio placed 6th, also improving on his PR by 9 seconds, in only his 2nd time running this event.  Sean Fitzgerald rounded out our team in the steeple, taking 10th.

Tom Thieke was our lone competitor in the 3200m run, improving his PR to 10:25.18.

In the Frosh/Soph 3200m run, Brian Smith took 2nd, setting a new PR, besting his previous time by 12 seconds.  Jake Hensler placed 5th, also PR'ing, with a 19 second improvement!

Austen Verhulst claimed 4th in the 100m dash, setting a new PR of 11.63.

In the F/S 100 dash, Stanton Ridley, Maston Ellerbe and Peter Carew all ran under 13 seconds.

David Vaughans ran a 55.3 in the 400m dash.  In the F/S 400, Gene Kum ran a 55.42.

In the 400m IH, Genis Guzman ran a 65.08.

In the 1600m run, Rob Tassey led the team with a 4:47.1 with Nick Mazzucca (4:50.88) and Nick Johnson (4:52.95 a new PR by 5 sec).  In the F/S 1600, Bobby Ferrara led the group with a 4:47.81 with Kevin Kreider (4:49.99 a new 5 sec. PR) and William Isenberg (5:03.72 a new PR).

In the 800m run, Brandon Keany ran a 2:00.69 for 5th place, Tim Fiola (2:04.04) and Ian Storck 2:09.62.  In the F/S 800, Dan Meehan ran a 2:14.24 (6th place) and Will Schneider, 2:17.37

In the F/S 200m dash, Cameron Black ran a 25.08, a new PR by more than a second, Maston Ellerbe a 25.23 and Michael Chaney a 25.8.

Matt Pluhowski claimed the top prize in the Novice Pole Vault, with a 10'6" clearance, improving his PR by 1 foot!!  Freshman Brian Doyle also competed in the PV and cleared 8' andset his own PR higher by a foot as well.

In the Open Pole Vault, Mike Brunoforte took 2nd with a 12' clearance.

In the F/S Long Jump, Eric Macaluso took home the gold with a jump of 19'1/2", improving his PR by 4".

In the F/S Discus, Keith Gallagher placed 5th, tossing 94'5", besting his previous PR by over 15'!

In the relays, the 4X400 team took 10th (remember this is against most of the other teams "A" squads).

In the F/S 4X400, the team claimed 5th.

In the F/S 4X100, the team of Napoleon Zapata, Gene Kum, Maston Ellerbe and Stanton Ridley took home the gold, besting the next team by more than 1 second.  The "B" team placed 6th.
