Varsity Leagues Recap

 

In addition to the victories mentioned on the mainpage, we had a number of members score in their events.  Starting with the Ladies, we had Stephanie Palumbo taking 3rd in the 55m dash as well as 5th in the 300m dash.  In the 55m hurdles, Olivia Abbatte placed 2nd and
Ashley Lorello took 4th.  In the 600m run, Caitlin Ude scored a 5th place finish. 
Christina Machado also scored in the 1000m run, taking 3rd place honors.  In the relays,
the team also scored a 5th place finish in the 4X800m, 2nd place honors in the 4X200m and
another 2nd in the 4X400m relays.  On the field side of the equation, Liz Fallon took 2nd in the
High Jump.  In the Long Jump, Genevieve Crescenzo scored 4th place points as did
Karen Henning in the Shot Put.

For the guys, Ken Walshak gained 2nd place honors in the 3200m run, Pat Murphy scored a 5th place finish in the 1000m run.  Over in the 1600m run, Rob Cherkis took 3rd and Ken Walshak nipped an SJB runner at the line to take 4th.  In the 4X800m relay, the team scored
5th place points.  On the field side, we scored several points as well, with Warner Cooley placing 3rd in the Triple Jump, John Slanover placing 4th in the Shot Put and the team scored
several points in the Pole Vault, which was contested on Thursday evening at our new facility.
Keith Rackett took 2nd place honors, Mike Brunoforte took 3rd and
Cathal Schlageter took 5th. 

 

The next action the teams will see is for the Freshmen and Sophomores at the Frosh/Soph Intersectionals held in the Armory, this Sunday (2/8).
