Boys & Girls take Varsity League

Titles in convincing fashion!!

The Ladies win by 34, the guys by 59.

The teams all had great days today, dominating the competiton with their talent & depth.  They scored in almost every event, with some outstanding performances, especially Adekola Adigbite winning the 200 (with Eric Slater taking 2nd), running the lead-off leg of the winning 4X400 and leading a 1-2-3 finish in the 100m dash (Maston Ellerbe & Stanton Ridley finishing respectively).  Cameron Black showed he's a force to be reckoned with in the hurdles, taking 2nd in the 400m IH and winning the 110 High Hurdles.  He also placed 3rd in the Triple Jump.  Payton Hazzard won the 800, waiting until 300m to go to turn up the heat, closing a substantial gap within 100m to take the gold.  Warner Cooley took the top prize in the 400m dash.  Chris Hand performed very well, winning the Javelin and Discus and took 2nd in the Shot Put, bested only by teammate Chris Pensa.  In the Discus, Chris led a 1-2-3-4 finish with teammates Jack Gamble, Tom Harty & Chris Pensa finishing respectively.   Mike Brunoforte won the Pole Vault, clearing 13'9", with Brian Doyle taking 3rd with a new PR of 12'.

On the Ladies side, Olicia Williams led the charge to the win, taking gold in the 800, 400 and as part of the 4X400m relay team.  But the day started off right with Sloane Russ winning the 2K steeple in a new PR of 7:27.5.  The ladies then went 2-3-4 in the 100m dash (Emily Taussig, Chynna-Monica Chung & Melissa June).   Lauren Fontana ran a new PR taking 3rd in the 1500m run.  In the 200m dash, the ladies claimed 3-4-5 (Chynna, Gab Barbour & Kat Mazzucca).  Danielle Cornell took 3rd in the 800 and was on the winning 4X800m relay team.  Megan Fiedler took 3rd in the 400m dash, and was on the winning 4X400m relay team.  Katie Gallagher ended her final meet at St. Anthony's with yet another double win (High Jump and Long Jump).  In the Pole Vault, the ladies went 2-5 (Liz Kelsch, Jamie Kallipozis, Kristen Goncalves & Kaelyn Marks).  In the Triple Jump, Alexis Fernandez (who also took 4th in the 400IH) claimed 2nd with Breanna Lynn taking 3rd.  In the Javelin Imani Williams took the top spot, besting her nearest competitor by 23'.  She also took 2nd in the Shot Put.  Eugina Bradshaw placed 3rd in the Javelin, just 9" short of 2nd.
